Bideawee Will Host Two Special Events in December to Spread Holiday Cheer and Raise Money for Homeless Animals on Long Island

Bideawee Will Host Two Special Events in December to Spread Holiday Cheer and Raise Money for Homeless Animals on Long Island

Westhampton, New York, November 28, 2018 – Bideawee, a leading animal welfare and pet adoption organization serving metropolitan New York and Long Island, will host two special holiday-themed fundraiser events on Saturday, December 1 and Friday, December 14 in the Westhampton area.

“Helping bring together pets and people is important to us – especially during the holiday season,” said Amy Brostoff, director of marketing at Bideawee. “Both events will not only spread joy to participants, but will raise money to support the care of our animals, and will provide an opportunity for our adoptable pets to meet potential families. Our holiday wish is to find them all a home for the holidays.”

The community is encouraged to bring their pets to Bideawee’s Westhampton location at 118 Old Country Road on December 1 for photos with Santa. Photo sessions will be open from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on a first come, first serve basis. For a $15 donation, attendees will not only be supporting homeless animals, but will also receive a digital copy of their pet’s holiday photo and a Bideawee gift bag. In addition to the photos, attendees will have the opportunity to meet adoptable dogs and cats. To ensure people meet the right pet to match their lifestyle, Bideawee Matchmakers will be available.

For the second event on December 14, Bideawee is teaming up with Donaldsons Volkswagen Subaru to spread holiday cheer to employees at local businesses by bringing adoptable dogs to offices as part of its annual Holiday Cuddle Dispatch. Companies must apply on the Bideawee website in advance with a charitable donation to have a Subaru Forester filled with adoptable puppies stop by between 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. for a visit. Media is welcome to stop by Donaldsons for photos and/or video of the volunteers and puppies getting ready for the visits. Please contact Amy Brostoff at amy.brostoff@bideawee.org if you are interested.

“We are proud to partner with Bideawee for the fourth year in a row for the Holiday Cuddle Dispatch,” said Steve Fulco, General Manager Sales Operations at Donaldsons Volkswagen Subaru. “It’s an amazing opportunity for us to get out in the community and bring smiles to so many working Long Islanders while helping find homes for adoptable puppies during the holiday season.”

For more information about upcoming events, visit Bideawee’s website. You can also follow the organization on Facebook, Instagram, Twitter and YouTube.

Embrace Pet Insurance Celebrates Season of Giving with Holiday Sweepstakes and Donation for Los Angeles Fire Victims

Ten Lucky Winners and Their Nominated Pet Charities Share $10,000

(Cleveland, OH) November 27, 2018— Embrace Pet Insurance, one of the highest-rated pet insurance companies in the United States, announced the launch of their “It’s Better to Give AND to Receive” sweepstakes. It starts today on Giving Tuesday and will run through December 25. Not only will participants have the opportunity to win money for themselves, they will also be able to give back to their favorite organizations. Ten randomly-selected winners will be rewarded with $500, as well as a $500 donation to their nominated 501c3 pet charity.

“Embrace values the amazing work nonprofits across the country do all year long to help animals in need, which is why we’re recognizing their efforts by providing ten nominated pet charities with $5,000 in donations,” said David Rodgers, Director of Marketing at Embrace Pet Insurance. “We’ll also be contributing $5,000 to two Los Angeles-based nonprofits impacted by the wildfires. We hope that others will be inspired to give back as well to ensure these organizations can save even more animals in 2019.”

In addition to the donations awarded to the sweepstakes winners, Embrace is kicking off the campaign with a $2,500 donation to The Little Angels Project to fund the care of animals affected by the Woolsey and Hill fires in Los Angeles and a $2,500 donation to the Rescue Freedom Project, which lost their North Hollywood-based rescue and outreach center in the fire. Certified professional dog trainer and TV personality, Laura Nativo, is partnering with Embrace to educate the public on ways they can help during the holidays.

“I’ve lived on the border of Malibu for almost a decade. After evacuating with my own beloved three dogs during the wildfires, my heart broke to see so much devastation in our communities and all of the helpless animals in need of rescue and care,” said Laura Nativo. “I’m grateful to all of the local animal rescues, shelters and brave volunteers who stepped up to help. These pet charities are in need of donations now more than ever. In addition to nominating your favorite organizations for the sweepstakes, please consider donating items from their wish lists, volunteering your time at a shelter or rescue, opening your home to a foster or hosting a fundraiser.”

Kristen Levine Selected by DOGTV as a 2019 Brand Ambassador

Tampa Bay, Florida, November 20, 2018 – Kristen Levine, pet living expert and pet anxiety awareness advocate, has been selected as a 2019 brand ambassador by DOGTV, the first TV channel scientifically designed for dogs to provide an enrichment opportunity that can make them happier and less stressed.

With over 25 years working in the pet industry, 17 years working in PR and marketing and two successful business ventures under her collar, her combined experience sets her apart from other brand ambassadors. She launched the Kristen Levine Pet Living online platform in 2014 to give people the opportunity to connect with their pets in more meaningful ways and provide pet parents with advice on everything from their pet’s health and happiness to smart, must-have products that make pet care easier.

“Through my Pet Living platform, I look to partner with trusted brands that can help bring valuable and educational content to my readers,” said Levine. “Fifty percent of dogs in the U.S. alone suffer from fear, stress and anxiety, including my own dog, Chilly. We were already using DOGTV to help reduce his separation anxiety, so the partnership is a great fit.”

DOGTV provides television programming for dogs 24/7. Through years of research with some of the world’s top pet and veterinary experts, special content was created to meet specific attributes of a dog’s sense of vision and hearing and supports their natural behavior patterns.

“Throughout her career, Kristen has always been dedicated to improving the lives of pets and their parents. Her experience and success using DOGTV to calm Chilly, and her commitment to helping pet parents navigate pet anxiety through Pet Anxiety Awareness Week, makes her the ideal ambassador for our company,” said Beke Lubeach, Senior Vice President, Partnership and Business Development at DOGTV. “We can’t wait to begin our work with Kristen and Chilly in 2019.”

In addition to DOGTV, Kristen has partnered with several brands in the pet industry, including Nestle Purina, World’s Best Cat Litter, Vetericyn Animal Wellness, HealthyPet®, Toyota, BISSELL and more. She recently launched a new Pet Credible Influencer Program that is designed to help brands like DOGTV overcome some challenges of working with online advocates and delivers consistent content campaigns that align with a brand’s annual marketing initiatives.

Pet Owners Can Now Turn Smartphones into Dog Training Tool with Launch of TrainAway App for Fearful and Anxious Dogs

Pet Owners Can Now Turn Smartphones into Dog Training Tool with Launch of TrainAway App for Fearful and Anxious Dogs

TrainAway app allows dog owners to desensitize their pets from loud and scary noises with over 100 professionally or self-recorded sounds

Colorado Springs, CO (November 19, 2018) — Pet owners with dogs that experience fear and anxiety triggered by various sounds and loud noises can now turn their smart devices into the first fully automated dog training tool with the launch of the TrainAway mobile application in the Google Play and Apple App store.

TrainAway is designed to prevent, reduce or eliminate negative animal behaviors that are triggered by sound. Users choose one of nearly 100 professionally recorded sounds, such as doorbells, fireworks, thunder, footsteps, and more. The app will play the sounds in a semi-random pattern, dictated by the user’s settings and the apps built in safeguards, at low volumes so the dog does not experience stress. Over time, the fearful dog will become desensitized to the sounds that previously triggered a negative reaction.

“Kevin Henry, the co-founder of TrainAway, came up with the idea for TrainAway when he was expecting the arrival of his first child. He wanted to do everything he could to make sure that his two large dogs were prepared for the new addition to his family,” said Kris Lawson, CEO and Certified Dog Trainer. “Kevin and I have been friends since childhood. When we started working together professionally, we knew the app we developed could potentially help thousands of dogs who suffer from noise anxiety.”

TrainAway works with the speakers built into a phone or tablet, but it performs best when paired with an external speaker that can reach a higher volume. It’s recommended that users combine multiple sounds to more accurately replicate an event. For example, a doorbell is generally the last in a sequence of events, so it’s paired with other noises that often accompany that sound, such as footsteps, a car approaching, etc.

“My dog Bane is a very anxious dog,” said Adam Faulkner, TrainAway customer and the person behind his dog’s Instagram page, @zaneybaneyadventures. “Within the first week of using TrainAway, I started seeing results. I am extremely impressed with the level of desensitization my dog has accomplished in only the first week, and I would definitely recommend this to anyone with an anxious or excitable dog!”

In addition to the sound desensitizing, Kris and Kevin are currently working on adding a function that would allow the app to connect to a treat dispenser that would be triggered in a progressively increasing pattern as the sounds are played.

“When it comes to pets, training or shaping their behavior is only half the battle. Reinforcing these behaviors is where the majority of time is spent. Our goal with TrainAway is to create better-trained dogs and happier owners by automating the reinforcement phase. Imagine if the sound of your doorbell cued your dog to run to their bed to await a treat, leaving you to sign for your pizza or collect a package with ease,” said Lawson.

The TrainAway app is currently available for purchase for $1.99 on the Google Play & Apple App Store. To learn more about Train Away and to see what others are saying about the app, please visit www.TrainAway.Biz.
