A partnership was announced recently between Vets Plus, Inc. (VPI) of Knapp, Wisconsin, and Emerald/Baldwin Dairies. The partnership allows VPI to conduct field trials at Emerald Dairy and use their on-site classroom to educate customers on visits and for training purposes.
The partnership between the two companies is designed to help both increase the production and well-being of the cows on site using nutraceuticals and through trials and Research and Development opportunities.
John Vrieze is the owner of Emerald/Baldwin Dairies and shared in a statement, “I was excited after meeting Raj. I enjoy working with people who say, ‘Let’s try that.’”
Vrieze’s wife, Pam, also manages a greenhouse that is heated from methane as a byproduct from the diary digester. The company is experimenting with the digester effluent and other farm byproducts so that they can more adequately self-sustain the greenhouse. The Vrieze family has been farming in St. Croix County since 1906.
