As part of a new consumer marketing campaign, OurPets Co., of Fairport Harbor, Ohio, has named Stanley the Cat as the official “spokescat” for the company’s SmartScoopbrand of automated cat litter boxes.

As spokescat, Stanley will encourage consumers to “join the odor revolution” and upgrade their cat’s litter box to Ourpet’s SmartScoop. SmartScoop is an automatic self-scooping litter box, which means it will scoop the waste after the cat leaves the box.The rake pushes forward to collect the clumps and deposits them into a waste bin. Once the waste is sealed in the bin, odor is eliminated. SmartScoop claims to be healthier and safer for the whole family, cats included.

The campaign includes the launch of a new website, www.odorindependenceday.com, in which consumers can find Stanley’s odor-free manifesto, dating profile and blog, as well as purchase a SmartScoop litter box. Stanley also has a Facebook page and Twitter feed.
