CHICAGO (August 6, 2014) – K9 Fit Club® – the leader in canine and human fitness – is pleased to announce that Founder/President Tricia Montgomery will be speaking at the Women in the Pet Industry Network (WIPIN) 2014 Conference, to be held August 14-16 in Portland, Oregon. Montgomery’s speech will take place on Friday, August 15 at 9:25 a.m. and will focus on “Fitness Inspiration and Taking Control of Your Life” for attendees and their dogs.
K9 Fit Club was founded in 2012 by Montgomery and was the nation’s first facility for both humans and canines to use together. As public demand for the program grew – with interest from enthusiasts all over the country – an online certification program was recently introduced.
“WIPIN is the perfect venue for K9 Fit Club to share our unique fitness programs that aim to keep both dogs and their owners healthy,” said Montgomery. “Obesity doesn’t just plague women in this country, it also affects our pets. Because of my own struggle, I wanted to start a program that dogs would enjoy, along with their humans.”
After shedding 130 pounds several years ago by working out with her dog, Louie, Montgomery was inspired to help all people and their dogs stay healthy and fit together, thus K9 Fit Club was born. Montgomery’s pit bull Zeus is the program’s “poster dog” and resident guinea pig.
“Our goal is to span the country with our unique fitness programs and develop certified trainers who are dedicated to keeping themselves and their pets in shape,” says Montgomery. “The new online certification program allows flexibility for those who work full-time or part-time, or who exercise with their dog as a hobby or just for fun. We want to give everyone the opportunity to make money doing what they love and loving what they do.”
WIPIN serves a worldwide membership base of women in the pet industry and is the only organization serving professionals in all segments of the industry, as well as all types of pets, including dogs, cats, birds, fish, reptiles, small animals, horses, and exotic pets.
