Rebecca Braglio is an attorney turned pet blogger/advocate for dog friendly businesses and animal welfare groups in the greater Philadelphia metropolitan area. A lifelong resident of Philadelphia, she is the founder of ThePhillyDog.com, the only online resource guide that connects dog owners with pet businesses and pet professionals.
ThePhillyDog.com provides information on dog friendly businesses, local resources and listings, product reviews, dog friendly events, fundraisers, contests and giveaways. Rebecca and ThePhillyDog.com was featured on Traci Hotchner’s “Dog Talk The Radio Show.” ThePhillyDog.com has also appeared in The Philadelphia Inquirer, The Philadelphia Animal Welfare Examiner, and The Roxborough Patch. ThePhillyDog also is a sponsor of several local animal welfare events, such as the PA SPCA’s annual “Bad Dog Ball,” PA SPCA’s annual Dog Walk, “Pets in Philly” Phashion Show benefiting PSPCA humane law enforcement, “With Love Super Adoption Day,” and The Super Pet Expo in King of Prussia, PA.
Rebecca was inspired to create ThePhillyDog.com after dealing with her Yorkshire Terrier Dash’s severe separation anxiety. She was trying to lessen the amount of time he spent alone and in the process found that Philadelphia was extremely dog friendly. She realized that there was a huge disconnect between the pet community and local pet industry. ThePhillyDog.com began as a simple listing of local pet resources and has blossomed into a marketing/advertising company that helps pet businesses break into and succeed in the Philadelphia pet market.
She is owned by one cat named Mabel, who was found in the streets of Philly, and a Yorkie named Dash. In her “spare” time she is a criminal defense attorney for the Defender Association of Philadelphia. She can’t wait to adopt another dog – hopefully a Pit mix!
