The Pet Industry's Leading Resource for News & Content Distribution

Rachel Phelps is the creative voice behind the popular dog blog The blog is written in the voice and viewpoint of Preston Peabody, a 2 ½-year-old West Highland White Terrier (Westie).  The blog is educational, informative, and fun.  She covers topics such as current pet issues, hot topics, product reviews, giveaways, pet rescues, and the adventures of Preston and his new brother Elvis (also a Westie and is a puppy mill survivor).

Rachel has an extensive background in website design and content management.  Her education includes a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science and a Master’s degree in Business Administration.  She oversees the social media endeavors, website content, design, and general PR for several non-profits including the local humane society in Owensboro, Kentucky.

Rachel is very involved in the animal welfare community and sits on the board of directors for the Owensboro Humane Society (the areas only no-kill facility) and is the Kentucky Representative for Westie Rescue Southeast.  She also transports animals for various groups and fosters westies with the help of Preston as the foster big brother.

Her inspiration behind came after her and her husband got their first dog together (Preston) and started attending training classes.  They found that whenever they went somewhere with Preston, strangers were captivated by his cuteness and personality causing them to let down their guard and start conversations with them.  So Rachel thought if a little white dog can get people to talk in her small western Kentucky town why not on the web too.  Using clever and witty humor of a small dog who thinks he is a big deal, Preston gives his readers his perspective on what pet products to try, how to keep your pet safe and healthy, what great things dog rescues are doing, and various other pet news and events.
