BlogPaws social media company recently announced they have surpassed the 1,600 mark in their online niche community.

According to BlogPaws co-founders, niche communities have such power in the ever-expansive $55 billion per year pet industry marketplace, brands are reaching out to BlogPaws to connect with bloggers and micro-bloggers in pursuit of solidifying and monetizing relationships. The desire these niche communities have to monetize their blogs, to learn more about how the brands create products, and to test out new products or ideas is strong—as evidenced by the growing attention given to blogger outreach.

BlogPaws is the go-to resource for pet people and brands to partner on projects and campaigns, to be educated on social media, and to arrange face-to-face meetings all over the country. In May of 2013, BlogPaws will host its fifth annual conference in Tyson’s Corner, Virginia, right on the Washington D.C. border. BlogPaws is a pet-friendly event that has made its mark in Ohio, Colorado, Virginia, and Utah thus far.

“Our community is a large part of the overall consumer spending environment – our folks spend upwards of $55 billion on their pets. The pet industry is a huge part of the overall American Dream,” BlogPaws’ co-founder, Yvonne DiVita, shared. “Ask any of the big box chains or grocery stores what would happen if folks who buy pet products, cleaning products, and home goods we need as pet parents, suddenly stop shopping at their stores. Talk about lost revenue!”

BlogPaws is also a network community that gives back with their Be the Change for Pets BlogPaws movement to encourage pet adoption. To date, BlogPaws has been able to donate over $55,000 in cash and pet-related items to shelters and rescue groups across the country.
