The Investment Fiduciary Leadership Council, located in Washington D.C., revealed that American Humane Association President and CEO, Dr. Robin Ganzert, was honored as a Visionary Leader and was awarded a Fiduciary Leadership Award, The award is given yearly to one individual who, though their leadership to the nonprofit world coupled with their time and insights were able to properly lead donor contributions.
Although unable to attend the recent ceremony to receive her award, Dr. Ganzert was 12,000 miles from home delivering funds to victims of the Japanese earthquake, tsunami, and nuclear disaster. Ganzert was able to send the message, “I thank the IFLC for this great honor and commend the Council on their tireless work to improve financial stewardship in the nonprofit world. In the mission-driven sector, good stewardship translates to helping more children, protecting more animals, keeping our air and water cleaner, and helping create more change for good.”
Ganzert joined AHA in October of 2010 and worked to increased global awareness of the group along with improving their programs efficacy and operational efficiency. She instituted the American Humane Association Hero Dog Awards, Animal Welfare Research Institute, Children’s Innovation Institute, and helping with funding for the effects of animal-assisted therapy on children afflicted with cancer. She established AHA’s D.C. headquarters, and implemented a National Humanitarian Medal program, with a $50 million capital campaign.
Michelle Sly Laughlin, executive director of Endowment and Foundation Community for the Investment Fiduciary Leadership Council, shared, “Robin Ganzert is a visionary and a thought leader within the non-profit world. Her enthusiasm for advancing the non-profit community toward a standard of stewardship excellence knows no bounds. She has demonstrated great mentorship to other non-profits through her work with IFLC, compelling them to unite around a shared vision and leading them along the path to stewardship excellence.”
