ökocat™ and PAWS Partner to Host Adoption Event in Honor of Adopt-A-Cat Month on Saturday, June 16
ökocat will match all adoption fees up to $2,000 and the event will include appearances from popular cat influencers, local vendors and more!
FERNDALE, WA. (June 14, 2018) – ökocat™ Natural Litter, a Healthy Pet® brand, has announced that it will host an adoption event at PAWS in Lynnwood on Saturday, June 16 in honor of Adopt-A-Cat month. The event will serve as the kick-off for its first ökocause4paws Litter Donation Program, and a donation of over 1,000 pounds of ökocat natural litter will be made to PAWS during the event.
The adoption event will take place at the PAWS Companion Animal Shelter at 15305 44th Ave W, Lynnwood, WA 98087 on Saturday, June 16 from 11:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m. During the event, ökocat will match the adoption fees of all cats (up to $2,000) and all adopters will go home with free ökocat litter.
Seattle-based cat influencers and animal supporters, Klaus (Oskar the Blind Cat & Klaus) and the Youngest Old Cat Lady, along with additional cat adoption advocates and fans, will attend the event in support of cat adoption.
“When looking for the first shelter that would receive our donation of litter through our ökocause4paws program, PAWS was the first shelter that came to mind,” said Leslie Ellis, Communications Manager at ökocat. “PAWS’ mission of educating people to make a better world for animals and people perfectly aligns with the goal of our litter donation program. We want to change the world one litter box, and one cat adoption at a time — and together we can make that possible!”
PAWS has been serving animals and the Greater Seattle community since 1967. On average, PAWS adopts out 2,500 cats per year, and the average cost of care for each cat that enters the shelter is approximately $380. In addition to the adoption center in Lynnwood, PAWS has a presence in Seattle’s University District with PAWS Cat City, a unique colony-style, cat-only adoption center. Cat adoption services at both locations include trained Adoption Specialists who are experts at matching people with the right cats and post-adoption support.
“Celebrating Adopt-A-Cat month is something that is close to our hearts. PAWS offers the whole kitten caboodle — and those who adopt during the event are going to be fully prepared to take care of their new furry friend,” said Anya Pamplona, Animal Services Manager. “The generous donation of over 1,000 pounds of natural cat litter through the ökocause4paws program is going to help us provide fresh, eco-friendly litter for the cats in our shelter.”
In addition to hosting the adoption event at PAWS, ökocat is encouraging cat lovers across Seattle to help them choose the next three eco-friendly cities with shelters that will receive a donation of cat litter. Votes are being collected here through August: www.healthy-pet.com/okocat/okocause. All who vote will be entered to win a 12-month supply (12 boxes) and multiple 1-month (1 box) supplies of ökocat. Winners will be announced on the ökocat Facebook page.
