Bideawee to Host 36th Annual Pet Memorial Day Event in Wantagh
New York, New York, September 7, 2018 – Bideawee, a leading animal welfare and pet adoption organization serving metropolitan New York and Long Island, announced the date of its 36th annual Pet Memorial Day. This year’s memorial will be held from 1-2 p.m. on Saturday, September 8 at Bideawee Pet Memorial Park, which is located at 3300 Beltagh Avenue in Wantagh. The public is invited to attend the special service to remember their beloved pets and to celebrate their memories.
“Since 1916, Bideawee’s two Pet Memorial Parks have been the final resting place for more than 65,000 animals,” said Leslie Granger, President and CEO at Bideawee. “We host a ceremony each year as a loving tribute to the community’s departed companion animals.”
The occasion will include music, light refreshments, tree seedling distribution, candle lighting, congenial companionship and more. Prior to the day, supporters were asked to submit a dedication to their pets to be read aloud at the ceremony. Those in attendance will also receive a commemorative flameless candle.
In addition to memorial services for pets, Bideawee has pet loss support groups open to the public. For more information about Bideawee and its Pet Memorial Parks, visit the website. You can also follow the organization on Facebook, Instagram, Twitter and YouTube.
