Animal Health Technologies Announces the Launch of its Calmz™ Anxiety Relief System, a Novel Wearable Solution to Help Reduce Canine Anxiety
CARROLLTON, Texas (June 22, 2016) – Animal Health Technologies (AHT), a veterinary technology company developing novel solutions for pet health conditions, today introduced its new wearable solution to canine anxiety, The Calmz™ Anxiety Relief System.
Canine anxiety is a large and growing problem in the US, with studies showing that it affects as many as two thirds of all dogs. The most common triggers of canine anxiety are thunderstorms, loud noises (such as fireworks), separation, travel and veterinary visits. Once triggered a dog will often express their anxiety through one or more behaviors, including vocalization, panting, pacing, inappropriate urination, hiding, digging or displaying other unusual behaviors.
“When our adopted black lab, Miles, began displaying extreme symptoms of canine anxiety, I started looking for non-drug options to help keep him calm,” said Buddy Snow, CEO of AHT. “After trying various options and seeing limited improvement, we decided to develop our own solution, the Calmz Anxiety Relief System.”
The Calmz Anxiety Relief System is a non-invasive treatment option for dogs that suffer from various types of behavioral anxiety. The system is comprised of a comfortable, adjustable vest that cradles the device over specific acupressure points on a dog’s spine. Its NeuroSync™ Technology, which creates and delivers calming frequencies that the dog can hear and feel, has been clinically tested by leading animal behaviorists and has demonstrated statistically significant reduction in negative behavior associated with common canine anxiety.
“Calmz has been really effective in relieving my dog Chilly’s storm and noise anxiety,” said Kristen Levine, pet living expert and spokesperson for the brand. “It’s easy to use and, most importantly, dogs feel comfortable with it on. Owners can choose from eight preprogrammed options of vibration intensity levels, duration and repeat cycle variations, based on the specific needs of their dog.”

“If you think that your dog has a problem with fear, anxiety or stress, it’s a problem,” said Lisa Radosta, DVM, DACVB, a board certified veterinary behaviorist with Florida Veterinary Behavior Service. “The most important thing for pet parents to understand is that this is a neurochemical response. You use this product for any fear, anxiety or stress diagnosis. Insist that your veterinarian help you reduce those clinical signs.”
