American College of Veterinary Ophthalmologists® (ACVO®) Selects FWV Fetching as Public Relations Agency of Record
ACVO engages for eighth consecutive year with FWV Fetching to promote the ACVO/StokesRx National Service Animal Eye Exam Event
RALEIGH, N.C. (March 14, 2017) – FWV Fetching, the Pet and Veterinary Practice of French/West/Vaughan (FWV) – one of the nation’s leading independent public relations, advertising and digital marketing agencies – has been selected as agency of record for the eighth consecutive year by the American College of Veterinary Ophthalmologists® (ACVO®).
The American College of Veterinary Ophthalmologists® is an approved organization of the American Board of Veterinary Specialties. Veterinarians must successfully complete a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree, a one-year internship, a three-year approved residency, and a series of credentials and examinations in order to earn the ACVO Diplomate credential.
Fetching’s team of expert pet and veterinary marketers will manage all external public relations initiatives to support The 10th Annual ACVO/StokesRx National Service Animal Eye Exam Event, with the objective of earning national media coverage and exceeding the number of screenings of working animals in 2016.
Following a registration period that opens in April, the screening eye exams are scheduled in veterinary clinics from May 1-31, 2017. Since its inception in 2008, the ophthalmologists have been able to perform more than 52,000 free eye exam screenings – 7,400 in 2016 alone.
“Healthy eyesight is extremely important to Service Animals and their owners,” said Stacee Daniel, Executive Director of the ACVO®. “These animals selflessly serve the public. In 2017 we are happy to engage again with Fetching to promote the 10th anniversary of this event, and to spread the message that so many Service Animals can be seen and helped by our board-certified veterinary ophthalmologists.”
The ACVO®/StokesRx National Service Animal Eye Exam Event provides as many free screening exams as possible to eligible Service Animals across the U.S., Canada, and Puerto Rico, as well as in international locations including Australia. Service Animals that may qualify include: guide, disability assistance, detection, military, search and rescue, and also certified-current, registered therapy animals.
